Good News Garden

On April 29, 2020, the Diocese announced the Good News Gardens project, and so in May of 2020, Holy Trinity started planting a garden! We are joining a new program from Plainsong Farm. Produce from our garden will go to the local food banks we support.

Rich Dykstra, one of our members, is an experienced organic gardener and he is leading the project. He has researched how best to create beds and is constructing the sides of the beds in his garage.
Phase 1: Construction
On Wednesday, May 13, 2020 we assembled and filled the 8 raised beds, filling them with soil.

Phase 2: Planting

We’ve planted seeds and young plants during the last half of May.

Phase 3: Watering & weeding.

The Good News Garden was a huge success. Pounds and pounds of wonderful vegetables were grown on our property and then used to nourish our fellow citizens year after year.
